Ok..we've been trying to find a solid Italian spot in northern nevada for the past 17 years! So many Italians live in the area yet not even ONE good and authentic spot.....until now! And in south lake tahoe???? After 2 italian friends (grazing andrea e Claudio) we decided to try it out and OMG! Nicola is a magician! Probably the BEST pasta and pizza we had in the US!

This restaurant makes homemade pastas. They welcome you in, give you their menu and seat you. You decide what do you want and you go back to counter order and pay there. One of things got my attention paying upfront. Tablet gives you options to choose tip before trying the food . I usually tip more after I taste the food and experience the service. I had to choose 20% which was less than what I normally tip. Back to the food I tried their Mafaldine with tomato and basil. It was delicious. I totally enjoyed it. Sauce was on point. I have not tried their pizza yet. May be tomorrow. It is cozy place. Indoor seating. Parking available in front of the restaurant.

My husband and I ate dinner here tonight. Anthony was at the front taking care of customers. We thought he was the owner of the place. His level of customer service went above and beyond. The rest of the employees were very helpful and friendly. We ordered the basil pesto gnocchi, prosciutto arucola pizza, and seasonal salad. We loved it all. The owners of this place are very lucky to have all of these people working here. We'll definitely be backed. Family friendly atmosphere.

I eat here everytime I am in Tahoe. Their menu is simple and they are authentic! My 4-year-old picky eater love their pesto pasta (to my surprise) and so do I! Their pizza are thin crust (just the way I like) and very tasty. Will keep coming back here again and again.

Quite possibly some of the best pasta I've ever had! We ordered at the front and the staff was very helpful in finding a table for 2, since it was quite packed on a Saturday night. We came to carb load prior to the marathon and this totally hit the spot. The pasta noodles were cooked to perfection with a bounciness that we have never been able to get just right cooking at home. I also loved the variety of pasta shapes to pick from. The sauces complemented the pasta very well and coated the pasta in just the right amount for the perfect bite! The bread balls were also super fluffy and soft and flavorful! We ordered a side of sauce to dip into as well. The vibes were lively and very homey. We will absolutely be back next time.

Oh. Good. Heavens. I have never had a better tasting gnocchi with three cheese sauce in my whole life. They couldn't have been more pillowy. So much creamy flavor. Simple concept executed perfectly. Choose a pasta. Choose a sauce. Our group of four shared an appetizer and two dishes and I swear I would go back to South Lake Tahoe just to eat here again. :)

Wow wow wow, seriously some of the best pizza I've had. All the ingredients are fresh and the homemade pasta is nice and chewy. This is the kind of pizza that I dream of and I hope it continues to maintain the excellent quality and service that I experienced. All pizzas are one size (13") and are cut into 8 slices. For the pasta, you can choose your sauce and then choose the type of pasta that you want! Lots of unique types of pasta to choose from, it's not just like spaghetti, bowtie, or fettuccine. Limited parking in front of the store

I ordered takeout just to be able to try Gastromaniac before leaving SLT. It was definitely on my to try list. Top thing I had were the gnocco fritto. Outstanding. They're small pieces of fried bread. The texture was perfection. A little crisp with the chewiness of the inside of the dough. If you love olive oil, you will taste it in every bite. It was so good eating it piping hot and fresh. I would definitely come back for this. I thought it would be accompanied by a dipping sauce but it wasnt. But it was great without it. Second best thing is the arancini. Delizioso! Eat it hot of course. When you slice it you get a little cheese pull. The rice, meat and pease are really savory together and packed with flavor. One piece is $9 and about the size of a pear. Also tried the malfadine paired with the Bolognese. While the bolognese was good, the pasta was a total miss. It was pretty soggy, way past the point of al dente, which was too bad. It would have been a star dish had the pasta not been overcooked. Nonetheless I am still a fan. And I would definitely come back to dine here when in SLT.
